OUR COMPANY HISTORY AND VISION
Integrated Hydro Systems, LLC (IHS) was established in 2002 by Dr. Robert H. Prucha and Dr. Tissa Illangasekare. Our vision was to create a small, but focused consulting-engineering company, offering specialized expertise and practical, defensible and cost-effective solutions to complex problems in environmental and water resources planning and management. We directly support clients as well as other consultants on problems that are typically more complex, require more specialized expertise and more sophisticated software.
Over the past few decades, rapid changes in environmental, social, economic, legal and political factors are producing increasingly more complex environmental and hydrologic problems. In turn, solving these problems requires increasingly more sophisticated solution techniques and analytical tools. Over this same time period, dramatic improvements in computers, data collection, mapping/GIS and analytical tools have enabled engineers to address more complicated problems. Unfortunately, many companies and professionals are simply not able to keep pace with either the computer hardware or software technology, and consequently are unable to address more complex problems.
Our combined academic backgrounds and specialized professional
experience allows us to provide solutions to more complex problems more
effectively than many consultants. We have considerable experience
project experience involving both subsurface and surface water flow systems, at
a variety of scales (lab to regional-scale), and in a variety of
environments/climates (humid to arid). We also have many years experience
utilizing a variety of current and sophisticated software to solve increasingly
complex.
Specific areas of expertise include the following:
Ø collecting, synthesizing and interpreting hydrologic, geologic and chemical data,
Ø developing reaslistic and defensible 3-dimensional geologic, hydrogeologic and conceptual flow models,
Ø conducting detailed model code selections,
Ø developing, verifying, or applying hydrologic, hydraulic, geothermal, or multiphase codes,
Ø developing and applying fully integrated models of coupled hydrologic systems,
Ø conducting modeling peer reviews and model validations, and
Ø preparing and presenting results to clients, attorneys, regulators, academics, and other consultants.
We believe that our systematic and technically-rigorous approach to solving today's increasingly challenging water resources and environmental problems provide our clients with timely, accurate, defensible and successful cutting-edge solutions to their problems.
